The Connectee

ConnectorNL matches new residents as well as local, and international graduates in St. John’s, Western and Central Newfoundland with established business people and community leaders. This informal networking session is as simple as having a cup of coffee and a chat, and then offering three names from your network folks can get in touch with. That’s it. It’s that simple.

Through these meetings, the Connector gains access to a wealth of diverse, pre-qualified talent and Connectees gain insight into their professional network, and connect with career opportunities.

Connectees are recent graduates, new Canadians, and new individuals in our province. They are highly qualified individuals who are just starting our in the Newfoundland business world who just need the right introduction.

How it works

The Match: ConnectorNL matches new residents, local and international graduates in Newfoundland with local employers, civil servants and community leaders based on industry experience, professional backgrounds, or the Connectee’s interest in a specific organization.

Once the connection has been made, an introduction email is sent to the Connector and the Connectee to set up a meeting.

The Connection: The Connector and the Connectee meet (about 30 minutes) and discuss industry backgrounds, skills and areas of expertise, industry related news, current market demands, and hidden job opportunities in Newfoundland.

The Referal: Connectors are asked to refer the Connectee to a minimum of three people in their network, and then each of these people are asked to refer the Connectee to three more. These referrals may be potential employers, influencial leaders within their industry or other people who will benefit from meeting with a skilled professional.

As Connectees meet with business and community leaders in either St. John’s, Western or Central NL, they gain a better understanding of the local job market, learn about the community, and are exposed to business and career opportunities in Newfoundland.
